IDEA: Painted Birds

Have some cardboard laying around? If so, you can have cool birds as your new housemates in no time at all! You can trace any kind of bird onto some cardboard. We went BIG because we wanted to have some fun and decorate a tropical birthday party. But you could go tiny or somewhere in between. If you need inspiration google “types of birds” and “bird silhouettes”. Once you have traced a bird you are ready to get an adult to help you cut the bird out. We tried using scissors but in the end found that a utility knife worked easiest. Now it is time for painting! Choose your colors and have fun! Squawk!

Tip: If you want them to be able to stand on their own you can tape a dowel or a long, sturdy stick to the back for stability.
