PLACE: Aardvark Letterpress

A favorite place in Los Angeles is Aardvarks Letterpress! Have you ever felt a paper with typed words or designs on it and the paper felt like it was pressed down or felt raised where the words were? If yes, that was printed using the letterpress technique - a form of relief printing that uses an inked, raised surface to print images or text. The raised surface is similar to a rubber stamp, and the ink is applied to the surface before the paper is pressed directly against it. The process creates many copies of an image.

Aardvarks was established in 1968! They are a family business started by their father, Luis Ocon, and continued by his sons, Brooks and Cary Ocon. The building is insanely gorgeous and the work created is always the best quality. We highly recommend them for all of your printing needs!
